The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gragula dives in and grabs Bazanov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bazanov pushes down on Gragula's head and hops out.
Bazanov tries to counter with a takedown but Gragula is quick to defend against it.
Bazanov shoots in looking for a takedown but Gragula manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bazanov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gragula tries to clinch but Bazanov is having none of it.
Gragula stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gragula wants it to stay on the feet.
Bazanov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gragula quickly recovers to half guard.
Gragula is looking for a sweep. Bazanov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gragula is still trying to improve position.
Gragula is pressing down on Bazanov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Bazanov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bazanov is posturing up here but Gragula has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bazanov tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bazanov has to tap! Slick submission there by Gragula!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Viktor Gragula!
After winning the bout, Viktor Gragula thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
