Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Dzoko Dzoker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Ling Manchu! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dzoker doesn't succeed with the takedown so Manchu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Manchu being controlled here momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dzoker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Manchu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Manchu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Manchu wants to control from the top but Dzoker keeps moving. Dzoker seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Manchu postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manchu working some strikes from top position. Manchu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dzoker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Manchu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dzoker pulls Manchu in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manchu chips away with some ground and pound. Dzoker managing to control the position. Manchu is looking to work some ground and pound but Dzoker has wrist control. Manchu connects with a couple of short punches. Dzoker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dzoker keeping moving, preventing Manchu from controlling successfully. Dzoker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Manchu defends it easily. Manchu throwing strikes but missing. Manchu postures up in Dzoker's guard and throws a big left but Dzoker blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dzoker pulls Manchu in close to prevent any damage. Manchu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dzoker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dzoker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Manchu is aware though and is defending well. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Manchu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Manchu lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dzoker is pulling down on Manchu's head. It's preventing any offense from Manchu, at least for the moment. Dzoker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Manchu is controlling him. Manchu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dzoker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Manchu has Dzoker in his guard. Dzoker chips away with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dzoker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Manchu throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Manchu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dzoker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Manchu works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dzoker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dzoker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Manchu's head. Dzoker connects with a couple of short punches. Dzoker looking to sit in guard and control but Manchu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dzoker looking for a triangle here. Manchu is fighting it but it looks tight! Dzoker pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Manchu is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Dzoko Dzoker! Dzoko Dzoker seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
