Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Mug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Acevedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jimmy Mug!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mug throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Acevedo was covering up waiting for the punch and Mug finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Acevedo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Acevedo wants to sweep here but Mug controlling him for the moment.
Acevedo controls Mug momentarily but Mug frees himself.
Acevedo keeping moving, preventing Mug from controlling successfully.
Acevedo really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mug postures up.
Mug throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Acevedo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mug is one step ahead there.

Acevedo wants to get back to his feet but Mug is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mug misses with a double jab.

Mug lands a left and a right that send Acevedo crashing to the mat, dazed. Mug thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Jason Acevedo has been cut.

Acevedo gets caught napping as Mug dives in and scores a takedown. Acevedo manages to retain guard.
Mug wants to pass the guard but Acevedo is keeping the position.
Acevedo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mug is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acevedo is working hard here to advance position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Acevedo is looking for a triangle but Mug pushes his legs off easily.
Acevedo is looking to sweep but instead, Mug has passed into half guard.
Mug is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Mug winds up and cracks Acevedo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Acevedo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mug keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Mug not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mug is looking to take a break and control but Acevedo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mug looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mug fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Acevedo to the ground. Mug is now in Acevedo's guard.
Mug controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mug must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mug with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Acevedo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Acevedo is trying to maintain the position but Mug is very close to passing his half guard.
Acevedo tries to get to full guard but Mug has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mug is trying to control. Acevedo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mug shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Mug wants to stand but Acevedo is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mug is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mug chips away with some ground and pound.
Acevedo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Acevedo has a closed guard, preventing Mug from standing up.
Acevedo is trying to keep Mug in close.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Mug passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Mug decides to stand back up. Mug steps back and let's Acevedo get back to his feet.

Mug takes the fight into the clinch.

Acevedo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Acevedo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mug sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Acevedo somewhat.

Mug looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Acevedo!
Acevedo is being controlled here.
Mug's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Acevedo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mug's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Mug wants to free his trapped foot but Acevedo is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mug in particular looking to stall.
Mug passes into side control, despite Acevedo's attempt to control the position.
Mug is staying tight to Acevedo's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Acevedo is looking for a sweep.
Mug wants to lay and pray for a moment but Acevedo keeps working.

Mug decides to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mug misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mug manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Acevedo on his heels. He'll look to pass Acevedo's guard now, I'm sure.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mug is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Acevedo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jimmy Mug showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Acevedo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mug is working away from the top position though.

Mug tries to free his leg and advance position but Acevedo is retaining full guard.

Acevedo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mug closes the distance looking for a takedown. Acevedo stuffs it but Mug still has hold of him. Mug picks Acevedo up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Mug slams Acevedo to the floor and that's really hurt Acevedo - he doesn't know where he is! Mug throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Mug!
