Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mason was covering up waiting for the punch and Oliveira finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Oliveira throwing strikes from guard but Mason blocks nicely.
Mason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Oliveira's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Mason is looking to improve his position but Oliveira isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Oliveira goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mason turns into him and now he's in Oliveira's guard.
Mason forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hudson Oliveira dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Oliveira avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mason scores with a kick to the body.
Mason doesn't manage to clinch there - Oliveira circles away.
Mason shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oliveira but Oliveira pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Oliveira paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Oliveira walks forward, straight into a front kick from Mason.
Oliveira has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mason wants to get up but he can't break Oliveira's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mason got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oliveira has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mason has managed to get both his arms back between Oliveira's legs - danger averted.

Oliveira has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mason is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Oliveira is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mason gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Mason makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mason has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Oliveira after a bit of a struggle.
Oliveira gets control of Mason's arms and successfully pulls guard. Oliveira will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mason tries to free his leg and advance position but Oliveira is retaining full guard.
Mason has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Oliveira is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mason frees his head nicely. Oh but Oliveira has switched to an armbar! Mason is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
