Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamel Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Copnola Selis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copnola Selis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jamel Bernard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Copnola Selis!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bernard gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bernard keeping moving, preventing Selis from controlling successfully.
Selis preventing the sweep.

Selis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bernard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Selis has managed to get both his arms back between Bernard's legs - danger averted.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bernard is on top in guard.

Bernard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bernard wants to control from the top but Selis keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Selis has a closed guard, preventing Bernard from standing up.
Selis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Selis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bernard passes into side control.
Selis is trying to control Bernard's posture but Bernard avoids it.
Selis is trying to get back to his feet.
Selis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Selis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Selis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Selis wants to control but Bernard postures up.

Bernard decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Selis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bernard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Selis is in Bernard's guard.

Bernard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Selis manages to get himself to full guard.

Bernard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Selis on the ground.

Selis is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Bernard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Selis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bernard is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Selis.

Selis wants to get back to his feet but Bernard is dominant here and he's now got Selis's back!

Bernard looking to break Selis's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Selis remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bernard will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Selis turns into Bernard and is now in his guard.
Selis looking to sit in guard and control but Bernard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bernard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bernard is looking to control Selis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bernard avoid being mounted?

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Selis darts in and clinches Bernard up against the cage.

Selis is working an open guard so Bernard takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Copnola Selis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
