The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fretwell dodges the punch combination from Hate.
Hate throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've been informed that Fretwell has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Harry Hate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hate delivers a nice body kick.
Hate ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fretwell moves away.

Fretwell looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Fretwell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fretwell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fretwell trying to control but Hate is working from the bottom.
Hate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fretwell is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hate keeping moving, preventing Fretwell from controlling successfully.

Fretwell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fretwell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hate's guard.
Fretwell is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hate is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Fretwell fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fretwell wants to control the pace but Hate is squirming around nicely.

Fretwell forces the positional change into back control.

Fretwell has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hate! Can he survive? No! He's out! Fretwell gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
