PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahdi Khoda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carroll is looking to clinch but Khoda is avoiding it.
Carroll really is a fat lump.
Carroll tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Khoda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Carroll tries to clinch but Khoda is having none of it.
Khoda unleashes a big counter combination but Carroll bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Khoda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Khoda looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carroll has picked Khoda up and slammed him! Khoda can't keep hold of the triangle and Carroll manages to pass to side control!

That was a close round but I would say that Tyrone Carroll will probably get the nod.
That's time! Carroll's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Khoda shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carroll's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carroll breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Khoda scores with a head kick. Carroll tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Tyrone Carroll has been cut.
Mahdi Khoda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khoda wants to clinch.
Carroll is looking for a counter combo.

Khoda connects with a good right hand that stumbles Carroll. Carroll circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Carroll tries to close the distance and clinch up but Khoda swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Khoda closes the distance and pushes Carroll back into the cage.
Carroll has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Khoda after a bit of a struggle.

Mahdi Khoda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Carroll tries to clinch there but Khoda circles away.

Khoda changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carroll looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Khoda wants to control but Carroll is keeping him busy.

Khoda has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
