10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hans Beijer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arthur Curry! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curry lands a nice shot that snaps Beijer's head back.
It looks like Hans Beijer has been cut. Curry takes one to the chin there.
It looks like Arthur Curry has been cut. Curry has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Beijer paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Beijer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Curry gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice body kick from Beijer. We've been hearing reports that Beijer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Beijer pushes Curry away with a front kick. Beijer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Curry manages to avoid it. Beijer misses with a head kick.

and Curry counters with a head kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Curry steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Beijer. That one must have hurt. Curry looks winded! Beijer bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Beijer scores with a body shot.

Curry is rocked! Beijer scoring with some ground and pound. Curry is still in real trouble! Can Beijer finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Beijer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Curry works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Curry seems to have recovered his senses. Curry keeping moving, preventing Beijer from controlling successfully. Beijer landing some decent shots from guard. Beijer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Beijer trying to control the position from guard on top but Curry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beijer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Curry looking to control but Beijer passes into half guard.
Beijer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Curry trying to hold on to Beijer's head to control him but Beijer postures up.
Beijer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Beijer is figuring out what he wants to do next. Curry is looking for a sweep. Beijer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Beijer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Curry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Curry wants to get back to full guard. Beijer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Curry controlling the position well. Beijer is trying to work for a kimura but Curry is defending well.
Curry is not content to let Beijer control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Curry controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Beijer winds up and cracks Curry with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Beijer passes into side control, despite Curry's attempt to control the position.

Curry is trying to control Beijer's posture but Beijer avoids it. Beijer trying to control the position but Curry is working away. Beijer working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Beijer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Curry keeps working. Curry struggling a bit here. Curry is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Curry gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Beijer drops an elbow to the side of Curry's head. Beijer wants to free his trapped foot but Curry is holding on for dear life with his legs. Curry tries to roll over but Beijer keeps him under control. Curry keeping hold of Beijer's head, controlling as best he can. Beijer slips a nice elbow through Curry's hands, connecting with Curry's forehead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hans Beijer dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Curry throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Beijer looks for the body kick but Curry saw that one coming. Curry avoids a kick to the body.
Curry thinks about the counter body kick. Curry lands with a nice body punch. A jab from Beijer misses. Beijer scores with a leg kick.
A head kick misses from Beijer. Beijer lands a glancing blow to the side of Curry's head. Beijer scores with a sloppy right hand. Curry should have avoided that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Curry slips under a jab. Curry listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Beijer looking to land some kicks to the body here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Beijer misses the jab. Beijer missing with a left hand there. Curry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Beijer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Curry misses with a lunging right hand
and Curry is countered with a crisp right hand from Beijer that sends him to the canvas! Beijer follows him to the mat into side control. Beijer trying to control the position but Curry is working away. Curry sneaks back into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Curry is positioning himself well to prevent Beijer advancing to mount. Beijer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Beijer sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Curry defending well though. Beijer not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Curry is looking for a sweep. Beijer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Curry moves into full guard.

Beijer forces his way into half guard. Curry on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Beijer prevents Curry from improving his position. Beijer trying to mount his opponent but Curry defends it. Beijer slips a nice elbow through Curry's hands, connecting with Curry's forehead. Beijer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Curry keeps working. Beijer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Beijer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Beijer looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Curry might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Beijer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Beijer is looking to take a break and control but Curry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Curry is looking to improve his position.

That has opened up Arthur Curry's cut even more. Curry holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Beijer lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Curry quite badly. Curry pulls Beijer in close trying to recover. Beijer postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Curry on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Curry doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hans Beijer! After the fight, Hans Beijer was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
