The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Stifiler is working Rodrigues over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rodrigues can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stifiler controls the pace.

Stifiler is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Stifiler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Stifiler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
You get the feeling that Rodrigues really doesn't like being in this position too much.

A nice elbow there by Stifiler.
The referee warns Rodrigues that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Stifiler's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
