PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Ching (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raynor Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ching's entrance music is E Ala E. A fine choice. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Damien Ching!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raynor Harris!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ching looks to throw a body kick
and Harris counters with a three punch combo that has Ching backing up. Ching nods at Harris to acknowledge the strikes.
Harris fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Harris keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Harris throws a counter combo.

Harris fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ching, pushing him back against the cage.
Harris is pressed up against the cage. Ching has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Harris down to the mat. Harris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ching tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Harris feints a jab promting Ching to slip. Harris then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ching slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Ching is looking to clinch but Harris is avoiding it.
Ching throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ching doesn't manage to clinch there - Harris circles away.
As Ching backs off Harris throws a huge counter combo but Ching manages to avoid it all.
Ching fails to land the takedown.

Harris shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Harris showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Harris lands with a punch from half guard.
Ching is refusing to be controlled, as Harris sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ching won't allow Harris to pass to mount.

Ching tries to roll over but Harris keeps him under control.
Ching is breathing heavily.
Harris blocks the strikes from Ching.

Ching has hold of Harris's hands but Harris slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Harris thows a huge punch but Ching dodges it nicely.

Harris gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Ching scores with a head kick.

Harris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ching was covering up waiting for the punch and Harris finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harris postures up in Ching's guard and throws a big left but Ching blocks it.
Harris lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Harris stands up from Ching's guard - Harris perhaps looking for a knockout.
Harris looks to land a combination. Ching sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ching definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Harris throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Harris clinches up against the cage.
Harris is trying to push Ching away but Ching has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Ching has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Harris after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damien Ching. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harris's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Harris wants to get back to his feet but Ching is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Raynor Harris dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Harris shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ching is trying to defend but Harris finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ching has one foot on Harris's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Harris throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ching's head.
Ching takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ching avoids a punch combination nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ching dives in for a single leg takedown but Harris sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Damien Ching is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A slow jab from Ching misses its intended target.
Despite the aggression on Harris's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Ching takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ching tries to land a front kick but Harris steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Raynor Harris seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ching dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Harris shoots in and bounces Ching off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Harris looking to sit in guard and control but Ching gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Harris is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ching presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Harris jumps guard but Ching stands there with Harris around his waist. Harris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Harris is trying to force a seperation but Ching has the dominant position.
Ching is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Harris is defending well for now.
Ching lands an elbow inside.
Harris has had enough of the clinch but Ching keeps him there for the moment.
Harris prevents the takedown attempt.

Damien Ching seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ching tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Harris is able to avoid easily.

Harris clinches up with Ching and pushes him back against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Raynor Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Ching moves in looking to clinch but Harris pushes him off.
Ching shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harris sprawls well. Harris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ching gets slowly back to his feet.

Harris shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ching as he jumps to the side.
Oh Ching is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Harris throws a series of punches but Ching avoids them all with ease.
Ching seems to have got his legs back now.
Ching is looking to clinch but Harris is avoiding it.

Oooooh!!! Harris has knocked Ching down with a huge combo! Harris steps away and waves a wobbly Ching back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Harris lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Ching can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Harris and Ching drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Harris.
