Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cung Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tero Karhula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le's entrance music is Untouchable . A fine choice. Karhula has chosen Will Smith - Men In Black as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cung Le!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tero Karhula!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karhula misses with an uppercut. Le saw that one coming.
Karhula throws an overhand right that lands on Le's shoulder, as Le tries to avoid the shot.

Karhula gets a double leg takedown into Le's guard.

Le tries to roll over but Karhula keeps him under control.

Karhula looks to score with a jab to the body but Le is just out of range.
Le quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Le slaps away a takedown attempt from Karhula, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cung Le is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Le fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A head kick misses from Le.
Karhula drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Le defends it well.

Le dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Karhula. That did some damage!

Karhula manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Le on his heels. He'll look to pass Le's guard now, I'm sure.

Karhula wants to control from the top but Le keeps moving.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karhula accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Le wants to stand and escape but Karhula is having none of it.
Karhula distracts Le with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Le bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Karhula's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karhula is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Le manages to get to full guard.
Karhula throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Le works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Karhula connects with a couple of short punches.

Le wants to sweep here but Karhula controlling him for the moment.

Le has momentary wrist control but Karhula slips an elbow through the middle.
Le is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Karhula is controlling him.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Karhula scores with the left hand. Le knows he should have avoided that one.
Le slips a straight right by Karhula.
Karhula's jab looks to have found its range, popping Le under the eye.
Karhula fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Le moves out of range as Karhula strikes.
Le connects with a leg kick. Karhula looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Karhula throws out a loose jab but Le uses good head movement to avoid it.
Le swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Le fails with an attempt to clinch.
Karhula throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Le fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Karhula manages to avoid it.

Karhula rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Le counters with a body kick that stops Karhula in his tracks momentarily.
Karhula fails to land with a series of punches.
A counter left hand to the body from Le misses its target.

Karhula shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Le napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Le seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Le is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Karhula cracks Le with a solid left hand.

Karhula is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Tero Karhula showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Le takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Karhula is fighting to break Le's control of his arms but Le is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Le lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

BOOM! Karhula connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Oh Le is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Le is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Karhula! Le is hurt baaadly! Karhula is firing away with more strikes - Le is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tero Karhula!
After the fight, Tero Karhula was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
