Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamel Morin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meco Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamel Morin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Meco Jones! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jones tries to pull guard but Morin holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Morin throws a punch but it's blocked by Jones. Morin content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Jones letting Morin take a breather here. Morin gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morin looking to slow down the pace here. Jones has hold of one of Morin's legs. Morin is fighting the takedown attempt but Jones gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Morin has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jones is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Morin - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jamel Morin. Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Morin has his hands clasped together around Jones's back. He's all about the action. Morin tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are battling for position here. Morin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Morin wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jones with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Morin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Morin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones wants to control from the top but Morin keeps moving. Jones is trying to drag Morin to the mat but Morin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Morin stops a takedown attempt from Jones.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Morin regains guard immediately. Morin is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Meco Jones dominated that round. That's time! Morin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Meco Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morin rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Morin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Morin for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jamel Morin. Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Morin shows good takedown defense. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. A quick step to the side and Morin tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Morin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Morin throws a head kick that misses. Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Morin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Morin tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Morin has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Morin walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Morin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Morin manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! This has been an exciting period of action! Morin uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.

Morin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Morin gets to mount! Jones was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Jones wants to hold on but Morin pushes him away. Morin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt. Morin decides to stand back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jones has managed to clinch.

Morin scores with a nice hook to the head. Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jones tries to sprawl but Morin drives through with a takedown into half guard. Morin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Morin eventually gives up the hold. Jones tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Morin has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
And that's the end of the fight! Jamel Morin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Morin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
