Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Humberto Araujo!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Araujo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Araujo wanted to stand there but Mclean had control of the position.
Araujo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mclean working for a triangle but Araujo defends it easily.
Araujo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mclean looking for a guillotine here but Araujo defends easily.

Araujo wants to pass the guard but Mclean is keeping the position.
Mclean is trying to keep Araujo in close.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Araujo has taken the fight to the clinch.

Araujo tightens his grip and picks Mclean up, before dumping him to the ground. Mclean manages to land in guard.
Araujo wants to get up but he can't break Mclean's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mclean is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mclean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Araujo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mclean avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Araujo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mclean on his heels. He'll look to pass Mclean's guard now, I'm sure.

Araujo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mclean sprawls well initially but Araujo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Araujo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mclean is just riding it out for now. Araujo eventually gives up the hold.
Mclean is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Araujo scores with a couple of nice shots.

Araujo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mclean sees it coming and defends easily.

Araujo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Araujo is looking to pass Mclean's guard but actually Mclean recovers to full guard.
Araujo is looking to work some ground and pound but Mclean has wrist control.
Araujo throws a big elbow that misses.

Araujo wants to stand and escape but Mclean is having none of it.

Araujo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mclean moves away.

Araujo swats away the attempt to clinch by Mclean.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Araujo.

Araujo gets the takedown into side control.

Araujo is trying to get an arm triangle but Mclean is defending well.
Araujo is breathing heavily.

Araujo swings around for an armbar but Mclean sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Araujo's guard.
Mclean throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Araujo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mclean wants to control from the top but Araujo keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Araujo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mclean drops back looking for a leg! Araujo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Araujo manages to kick Mclean off! Mclean jumps back into Araujo's guard.

Humberto Araujo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Araujo has eaten all the pies!
Mclean tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Araujo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Araujo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Araujo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mclean regains half guard.
Araujo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Araujo has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Mclean works to full guard.

Araujo throwing shots but Mclean is blocking nicely.

Araujo wants to get back to his feet.

Mclean is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Araujo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Araujo's back!

Mclean has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Araujo has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Mclean throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Mclean is hanging on to Araujo's back as he tries to escape.
