Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pervis Whitaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mann is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lupe Fiasco - Fire. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pervis Whitaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Mann! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mann fails to land the takedown. Whitaker feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mann's calf. Whitaker clinches with his opponent.
Mann is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Whitaker fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Whitaker scores with a shoulder strike. Whitaker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Whitaker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mann changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whitaker tries to avoid it but Mann manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whitaker to the ground. Whitaker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pervis Whitaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Mann. Whitaker has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mann tries to land knees in the clinch but Whitaker avoids the damage to the body. Whitaker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Manns head. Mann prevents Whitaker from breaking the clinch. Mann tries to break the clinch but Whitaker is controlling the position. Whitaker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Whitaker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Whitaker looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann has hold of Whitaker's hands but Whitaker slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mann taking some punishment here, with Whitaker in his half guard. Whitaker wants to stand but Mann has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Mann missing with punches from the bottom.
Whitaker is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Whitaker working over Mann with some ground and pound. Mann looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mann looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mann is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Whitaker pulls his head out easily. Mann looks gassed! Whitaker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mann gets full guard. Whitaker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Whitaker lands a couple of digs. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Whitaker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mann's guard. Whitaker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Whitaker is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Mann has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mann works his way to full guard. Good work. Mann has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Whitaker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Whitaker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mann's guard. Whitaker trying to pass the guard but Mann defending well. Mann is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitaker winds up and cracks Mann with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Whitaker connects with a nice short shot to Mann's temple. Mann moves into full guard.
Whitaker scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Mann had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Whitaker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mann Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Whitaker's back instead. Mann struggling to land strikes to the head as Whitaker covers up. Mann is trying to stick to Whitaker's back but Whitaker is turning into Mann. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mann's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Whitaker. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pervis Whitaker dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Whitaker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mann. That did some damage! Whitaker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Whitaker lands in his opponent's guard. Mann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mann looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Whitaker passes into half guard.

Whitaker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mann moves into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann looking for a guillotine here but Whitaker defends easily.
Whitaker drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Whitaker seems to have locked his on tight now - Mann screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Whitaker, as he picks up the win!
