PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynch comes into the arena with Suffa by Hed Pe blaring out of the sound system. Mason has chosen Darude - Sandstorm as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucas Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Mason!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Max Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mason lands with a shot to the body.
Lynch throws a right hand that Mason ducks under and follows up with a left that Mason also avoids with ease.

Lynch gets a clinch.
Mason struggles to land a body shot inside as Lynch controls his hands.
Lynch blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mason tries to land knees in the clinch but Lynch avoids the damage to the body.
A short uppercut from Mason.

Lynch manages to break the clinch.
Mason takes a swing at Lynch's ribcage but misses.
Mason looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Mason throws a sloppy head kick and Lynch moves out of range easily.
Lynch takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Lynch throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mason was covering up waiting for the punch and Lynch finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lynch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lynch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lucas Lynch.
