Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rojas comes to the cage accompanied by Apaga Mas Não Bate. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrigo Rojas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Askren! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rojas, pushing him back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Askren as Rojas tries to tie him up. Askren lands a hook that snaps the head of Rojas backwards. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Rojas manages to pull guard.
Askren slips nicely into half guard. Rojas regains full guard. Nicely done. Askren lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Askren scoring with some ground and pound. Askren scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Askren showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Rojas has momentary wrist control but Askren slips an elbow through the middle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askren with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rojas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rojas being controlled here, momentarily. Askren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Askren lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rojas working for a triangle but Askren defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rojas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Askren is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rojas. Askren tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Askren working away. Rojas taking a bit of punishment here - Askren scoring with strikes. Rojas is trying to improve his position. Askren is putting a hurting on Rojas here, landing some big shots from side control. Askren trying to control the position but Rojas is working away. Askren passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Rojas! Askren tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Askren cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Askren content just to control the position here. Rojas tries to get back to half guard but can't. Askren with good strikes from the mount here! Askren connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Askren landing punches. Askren looking to finish Rojas with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rojas!
Rojas is rocked! Askren sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Oh Rojas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Askren's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Rojas seems to have got his legs back now. Askren postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rojas looks a forlorn figure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oooooh, big shot lands for Askren! Rojas is hurt baaadly! Askren is firing away with more strikes - Rojas is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Askren! Jon Askren tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
