Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shayne Castaneda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vivien Kinglet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shayne Castaneda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vivien Kinglet!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinglet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Let's hope that Kinglet has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kinglet stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Kinglet feints and as Castaneda raises his hands in defense, Kinglet changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Castaneda wants to stand up but Kinglet is controlling him.
Kinglet passes into half guard.
Castaneda wants to get back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kinglet connects with a nice short shot to Castaneda's temple.

Castaneda is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kinglet.
Castaneda slips a jab and a cross from Kinglet.

Kinglet has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Castaneda uses from the top position.

Castaneda avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kinglet has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Castaneda off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kinglet shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Castaneda is trying to defend but Kinglet finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vivien Kinglet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Castaneda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kinglet's waist but Kinglet gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castaneda off to one side.

Castaneda shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kinglet counters by clinching up.

Kinglet pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kinglet lands a left and a right that send Castaneda crashing to the mat, dazed. Kinglet thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Castaneda is rocked!


It looks like Shayne Castaneda has been cut.
Kinglet misses with a head kick.
Castaneda changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Oh Castaneda is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kinglet dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Castaneda has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Vivien Kinglet!
