Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard Michels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul comes to the cage accompanied by DMX. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Michels decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Nice strikes from Michels there.
Michels thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Paul avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Michels.
Michels is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Paul is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Michels scores with a couple of nice shots.
Michels looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Michels accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Michels throws a big right hand that misses.

Michels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Paul blocks a head kick by Michels.

Paul is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Paul working for a triangle but Michels defends it easily.
Michels passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Michels tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Michels has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Paul avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Michels.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Paul gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Michels is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Paul doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Michels.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Michels is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Paul is just riding it out for now. Michels eventually gives up the hold.
Michels seems to be working for a kimura but Paul defends the submission attempt.

Paul manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Michels is desperately trying to improve his position but Paul has a good base and remains in mount.

Paul working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Michels looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Paul! Submission of the night perhaps?
