Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Malton Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Shelby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shelby is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Red Right Hand. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shelby tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith stuffs the takedown.
Shelby is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smith sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Smith controlling the position.
Smith trying to control the action but Shelby is working from the bottom.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shelby is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.
Smith wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Shelby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shelby wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Malton Smith will probably get the nod.

Shelby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shelby gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shelby looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Smith shoots in but Shelby avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tommy Shelby has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Smith throws a strike but Shelby rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
