Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marlon Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Carrot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Carrot will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marlon Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Carrot! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carrot tries to score a power double leg takedown but Murphy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carrot somewhat. Carrot clinches up with Murphy and pushes him back against the cage. Carrot goes for a takedown attempt but Murphy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carrot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Murphy pinned against the cage. Murphy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Marlon Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Carrot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murphy has Carrot up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Come on Murphy - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Carrot is looking to take this one to the mat. Carrot is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Murphy pulls him back up using the underhooks. Murphy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Murphy wants to break free but Carrot has control.
Murphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Carrot throws a head kick that misses. Murphy swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Carrot gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carrot tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Murphy smiles and moves away.
Carrot looks winded! Murphy pushes Carrot up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carrot has Murphy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Murphy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Murphy takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Carrot wants a takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Murphy throws a big right hand that misses. Carrot should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Murphy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carrot is proving hard to escape from. Murphy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Carrot wants to sweep here but Murphy controlling him for the moment. Murphy with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Murphy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Murphy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Murphy with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murphy gets to his feet. Carrot looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Carrot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Murphy half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carrot gets caught napping as Murphy dives in and scores a takedown. Carrot manages to retain guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Murphy's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Murphy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Murphy throws a big right hand that misses. Murphy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Murphy is in close to Carrot's body, working some short punches and elbows. Murphy lands a couple of decent looking shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murphy scoring with some ground and pound. Carrot is breathing heavily. Carrot throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murphy scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carrot works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Carrot avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Murphy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carrot's head. Murphy working some strikes from top position. Murphy scoring with some ground and pound. Murphy throws an elbow that misses. Carrot uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Murphy's guard. Nice move by Carrot! Murphy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Murphy is pulling down on Carrot's head. It's preventing any offense from Carrot, at least for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carrot prevents Murphy from getting back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. John Carrot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carrot shoots in for a double leg but Murphy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Murphy is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Carrot. Carrot shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Murphy defends it nicely. Murphy seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carrot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Murphy sprawls well. Murphy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Murphy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A head kick by Carrot misses and Murphy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carrot won't be happy with that. Murphy scores with a couple of short elbows. Marlon Murphy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Murphy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Murphy working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Murphy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carrot knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Murphy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carrot can do to turn this around? Carrot takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Murphy is looking to control Carrot's arms but Carrot gets an underhook and turns him. Now Murphy has his back to the cage. Murphy can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. A frustrated look appears on Carrot's face as he tries to break the clinch. Murphy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Marlon Murphy. Murphy shoots for a double leg takedown but Carrot sprawls well. He's pushed Murphy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Carrot shoots in but no luck this time. Murphy tries to counter by clinching up but Carrot breaks away and moves out of range. Marlon Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Murphy half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Murphy shoots in for a takedown but Carrot shows good takedown defense. Carrot shapes to counter with a head kick. Carrot clinches up with Murphy and pushes him back against the cage. Murphy throws a knee to the head but misses.

Carrot tries to free his leg and advance position but Murphy is retaining full guard. Carrot must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carrot trying to control but Murphy is working from the bottom. Murphy wants to sweep here but Carrot controlling him for the moment. Murphy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Carrot is looking for a sweep. Murphy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. John Carrot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marlon Murphy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Murphy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carrot with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that's the end of the fight! Marlon Murphy showed his dominance in that final round. Well Murphy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
