19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cortland Cartwright! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cartwright closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Alcantara is trying to get back to half guard. Alcantara managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cartwright.
Cartwright throws an elbow but Alcantara slips to the side and avoids it well. Cartwright is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alcantara is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Cartwright working away. Alcantara on the wrong end of some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright tries for a kimura but Alcantara is defending well. Cartwright tries for a kimura but Alcantara is defending well. Cartwright has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cartwright is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cartwright hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Post fight, an emotional Cortland Cartwright said 'The Greeks should be responsible for their own actions. But let's say they recklessly borrow money for a big party and now they have no hope of paying it all back.
Should the banks who recklessly lent them the money be responsible for their own actions? Or should the EU continue to bail them out?'.
