Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ville Galle Jr! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liyak Rhust! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rhust fails with a takedown attempt. Rhust uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Galle Jr. Rhust with the counter takedown but Galle Jr avoids it easily. Galle Jr moves into the clinch. Galle Jr is pressed up against the cage. Rhust has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Galle Jr down to the mat. Galle Jr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rhust looks to land a left hand but Galle Jr moved out of range nicely. Rhust just misses with a punch to the body.
Rhust rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Galle Jr moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Galle Jr misses with a body shot.
Rhust misses with an uppercut. Galle Jr is looking to counter punch. Galle Jr definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Galle Jr moves into range and clinches up with Rhust. Rhust slowing the pace effectively. Galle Jr lands a right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galle Jr makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Galle Jr blocking some punches.

Rhust misses with a hook. Galle Jr ducked under it nicely. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rhust is defended easily by Galle Jr. Ville Galle Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liyak Rhust.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galle Jr missing with a left hand there. Rhust was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Galle Jr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rhust's sensitive parts. A big right from Galle Jr misses. Rhust drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Galle Jr defends it well. Galle Jr defending well as Rhust loads up on a big left hand. Galle Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rhust but Rhust pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rhust lands a lovely overhand right. Galle Jr scores with a punch to the head. Galle Jr cracks Rhust with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Rhust stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rhust wants it to stay on the feet. Galle Jr fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rhust to the ground. Galle Jr is now in Rhust's guard. Galle Jr content to stall in guard here. Rhust working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galle Jr is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rhust is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Galle Jr is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rhust is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rhust has escaped and now he's on top! Galle Jr preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rhust with a flurry of punches that miss. Rhust is fighting to break Galle Jr's control of his arms but Galle Jr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Rhust with a flurry of punches that miss. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Galle Jr pulls Rhust in to control the position. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Rhust ducks under a wild hook from Galle Jr. Galle Jr moves into the clinch successfully.

Galle Jr throws out a loose jab but Rhust uses good head movement to avoid it. Ville Galle Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rhust lands a slapping body shot.

A combination from Rhust does no damage. Galle Jr stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Galle Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rhust really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galle Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Galle Jr throws an elbow that misses. Rhust uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Galle Jr's guard. Nice move by Rhust! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Galle Jr has control of Rhust's left arm, preventing Rhust from doing any damage. Galle Jr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rhust's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Galle Jr looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galle Jr passes Rhust's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Galle Jr seems to be looking for submissions.
Rhust wants to control but Galle Jr is keeping busy and won't allow it. Rhust is refusing to be controlled, as Galle Jr sits in half guard. Rhust wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ville Galle Jr dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Galle Jr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galle Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Galle Jr controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Rhust looking for a sweep. Not yet Rhust, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galle Jr stands up over Rhust, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Galle Jr advances position into side control! Rhust tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galle Jr content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rhust can do anything to dispel that myth. Galle Jr is putting a hurting on Rhust here, landing some big shots from side control. Galle Jr is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rhust will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Rhust tries to improve position but can't. Galle Jr working the ground and pound but Rhust is defending the strikes. Galle Jr is looking to take a break and control but Rhust is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Galle Jr tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Galle Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Galle Jr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Galle Jr has hold of Rhust's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rhust seems comfortable defending it but Galle Jr has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rhust is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rhust is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Galle Jr couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ville Galle Jr! Ville Galle Jr is the new welterweight champion! After the fight, Ville Galle Jr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
