Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Van Der Sluijs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarik Belson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Van Der Sluijs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jarik Belson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Sluijs slips under a jab from Belson.
Van Der Sluijs throws a big counter combination but Belson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Van Der Sluijs lands with a nice combination. Belson backs away looking to recover.
Van Der Sluijs fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Belson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Belson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Van Der Sluijs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Van Der Sluijs enables Belson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Van Der Sluijs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Horrible takedown attempt by Belson or perhaps it was just good defense by Van Der Sluijs, which made it look bad.

Belson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looked like Van Der Sluijs wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Belson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Belson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Belson misses with a hook. Van Der Sluijs ducked under it nicely.

and Van Der Sluijs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Belson throws an overhand right that lands on Van Der Sluijs's shoulder, as Van Der Sluijs tries to avoid the shot.
And Van Der Sluijs counters with a quick kick to the body but Belson blocks it.

It looks like Van Der Sluijs has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Van Der Sluijs will probably get the nod.

James Van Der Sluijs showed his dominance in that final round.
