Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephan Gutierrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landry comes to the cage accompanied by Lumberjack Song - Monty Python. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Landry rushes Gutierrez and presses him up against the cage.

Landry pulls guard successfully.
Landry looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gutierrez is one step ahead there.
Gutierrez wants to get up but he can't break Landry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gutierrez is fighting to break Landry's control of his arms but Landry is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gutierrez slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Landry tries to roll over but Gutierrez keeps him under control.

Landry is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gutierrez is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gutierrez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Landry pushes Gutierrez off looking to stand but Gutierrez dives back in and keeps control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gutierrez or perhaps it was just good defense by Landry, which made it look bad.
Landry is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Gutierrez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A little feinted left hand from Landry on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Gutierrez misses with a takedown attempt

and Landry counters by clinching up.
Pierre Landry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Gutierrez.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Landry.
Landry prevents a body shot from Gutierrez.
Gutierrez is trying to pull guard but Landry turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Landry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gutierrez tries for a takedown but Landry sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gutierrez looks winded!

Landry gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gutierrez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Landry lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Landry lands a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Landry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Some wild striking there from Gutierrez.

Gutierrez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Landry to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Landry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gutierrez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Landry has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gutierrez is proving hard to escape from.
Landry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Landry prevents Gutierrez from getting back to his feet.

Gutierrez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Landry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Landry connects with a couple of short punches.

Gutierrez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Landry wants to stand but Gutierrez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Landry content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Gutierrez is rocked!
Landry loads up on a big left hand. Gutierrez felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Landry looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Gutierrez can't hide his disappointment, as Landry celebrates the victory.
