Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Daniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryce Daniel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Williams!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Williams is defended easily by Daniel.
Daniel shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And Williams responds with a good body kick, but Daniel manages to step out the way in time.
Williams moves in looking to clinch but Daniel pushes him off.
Williams doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Daniel counters with a one-two to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bryce Daniel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Williams.
Williams tries to break free but Daniel pushes him back against the cage.

Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daniel tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daniel to the ground. Daniel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Williams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Daniel defends it easily.

Daniel has gone for a leg lock! Williams slips out almost immediately though and dives into Daniel's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Daniel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Daniel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Williams stands and throws Daniel's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Williams decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Daniel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Daniel persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round but I would say that Bryce Daniel will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Daniel wants to stand but Williams is controlling his posture from full guard.

Daniel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Williams avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Daniel throws a strike but Williams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams throws an elbow that misses. Daniel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Daniel!

Daniel closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Daniel pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Daniel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
