Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, jo jo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Voorhees!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ron Honeybunn and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jo closes the distance and clinches up with Voorhees, looking for a takedown. jo pushes Voorhees against the cage but Voorhees circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Voorhees throws a combination that misses
and jo moves into the clinch.
jo has Voorhees pressed against the cage, preventing Voorhees from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
jo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Voorhees tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. jo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
jo swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
jo moves into range and clinches up with Voorhees.
Still in the clinch, jo scores with a nice short uppercut.
jo lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
jo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Voorhees has hold of jo's hands but jo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
jo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
jo slows the pace down in half guard.
Voorhees trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
jo stalling.
jo stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Voorhees to get to his feet.
Voorhees misses with an attempted mid kick.
Voorhees wants to clinch.
jo defending well as Voorhees loads up on a big left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
jo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Voorhees, pushing him back against the cage.
jo drags the fight down to the ground.
jo is looking to cinch up a triangle. Voorhees throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to jo's body to avoid the submission. jo has instead reached around Voorhees's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! jo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). jo jo!
