The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie walks forward, straight into a front kick from Tompson.
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tompson defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Tompson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Tompson scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tompson lands the left hand.

It looks like Romero Gracie has been cut.
Tompson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.
Tompson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gracie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tompson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Romero Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tompson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gracie.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tompson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Gracie is breathing heavily.
Tompson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tompson throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Gracie colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Tompson as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Gracie is left battered and dazed whilst Tompson and his camp cheer!
