Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoel Lordero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lordero might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ni de Aqui Ni de Alla. Harry Holliday acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yoel Lordero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harry Holliday!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lordero walks into a straight right hand from Holliday.
Lordero tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Holliday swivels and escapes.
Holliday changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Lordero fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Holliday sprawls well initially but Lordero persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lordero is trying to control. Holliday wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lordero not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Holliday really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lordero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lordero is looking to take a break and control but Holliday is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Holliday tries to get to full guard but Lordero has control of the leg.
Lordero lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Holliday won't allow Lordero to pass to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Holliday can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lordero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Holliday doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lordero.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lordero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Holliday is just riding it out for now. Lordero eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holliday avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lordero.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Holliday keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lordero looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Lordero is thwarting Holliday's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lordero shoots in but Holliday avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lordero looks for a takedown but Holliday sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoel Lordero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lordero moves in looking to clinch but Holliday pushes him off.

Holliday tries to sprawl but Lordero drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Holliday is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holliday wants to get back to full guard but Lordero has passed into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lordero misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Lordero is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Holliday is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've been informed that Holliday has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lordero sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Holliday is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Holliday is not content to let Lordero control the position.

Lordero is trying to get an arm triangle but Holliday is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lordero fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Lordero cracks Holliday with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Lordero scores with a couple of short elbows.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Holliday managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lordero.
Holliday dodges the ground and pound from Lordero.

Lordero tries for a kimura but Holliday is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoel Lordero dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lordero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Holliday scores with a shot to the body.
A punch combination from Holliday misses.
Lordero tries for a takedown but Holliday circles away easily
and Holliday counters with a two punch combo.
Holliday throws a low kick but Lordero moves out of range easily.
Lordero tries to move into range but Holliday moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Yoel Lordero has been cut.
Holliday closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Lordero fails with the takedown

and Holliday counters with a crisp right hand that drops Lordero! Holliday lets Lordero back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Lordero is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoel Lordero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Holliday scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Oh Lordero is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yoel Lordero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lordero shoots in for a double leg but Holliday sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Holliday wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lordero seems to have got his legs back now.
Holliday drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Lordero right on the button. Lordero goes down! Holliday follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Holliday gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harry Holliday!
