Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Whitehope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes to the cage accompanied by Comfortably Numb. Merik Hunt could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mark Whitehope's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
42 - 25 - 0, fighting out of London, Merik Hunt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Whitehope! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donk. Hunt catches Whitehope right on the button with a cross. Hunt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mark Whitehope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunt takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hunt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hunt stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Whitehope shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hunt defends it nicely. Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hunt scoring well with a low kick there.
Hunt does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Whitehope counters with a body kick. Whitehope tries to clinch but Hunt moves out of range. Whitehope looks to land a combination but Hunt avoids it well. Hunt's jab looks to have found its range, popping Whitehope under the eye. Whitehope bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hunt's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hunt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Whitehope napping and manages to drive through into side control! Whitehope is trying to control Hunt's posture but Hunt avoids it. Whitehope managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hunt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Whitehope taking a bit of punishment here - Hunt scoring with strikes. Whitehope can't do much from the bottom here. Whitehope is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hunt is staying active. Whitehope avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hunt. Whitehope parries the strikes from Hunt easily there. Hunt is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Whitehope to escape.
Whitehope can't do much from the bottom here. Hunt working the head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunt throws a strike aimed at the side of Whitehope's head but Whitehope avoids it well. Whitehope takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hunt misses with the ground and pound. Hunt misses with the ground and pound. Hunt has knee on belly and moves into mount. Whitehope tries to hold on but Hunt pushes him away. Hunt dominating with strikes here. Hunt scoring with strikes but Whitehope is staying in there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hunt breaks from Whitehope's wrist control and lands an elbow. Whitehope tries to hold on but Hunt postures up. Hunt postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Whitehope looks a forlorn figure.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt controlling from mount. Whitehope tries to hold on but Hunt postures up. Hunt working away from the top, dropping strikes. Whitehope wants to hold on but Hunt pushes him away. Hunt tries to control but Whitehope wriggling away. Hunt looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunt looking to control but Whitehope is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Whitehope is bucking up trying to escape but Hunt cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunt lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Whitehope is still in real trouble! Can Hunt finish him? Hunt landing strikes from the mount. Whitehope wants to hold on but Hunt pushes him away. Whitehope might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hunt haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Whitehope seems to have recovered his senses. Hunt looking to finish Whitehope with some ground and pound. This is bad for Whitehope! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Whitehope blocking the ground and pound. Hunt putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Whitehope is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Whitehope wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hunt.
Hunt lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Whitehope! Hunt sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Whitehope and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
