Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Weidman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Weidman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tomasz Adamek! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weidman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Weidman is looking to take a break and control but Adamek is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ground and pound from Weidman. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adamek can do anything to dispel that myth. Adamek has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Weidman is working away from the top position though. Adamek won't allow Weidman to pass to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice strikes from Weidman there. Adamek wants to control but Weidman is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Weidman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Adamek defending well though. Adamek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weidman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Adamek is not content to let Weidman control the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Weidman in particular looking to stall. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weidman wants to control but Adamek is keeping him busy.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Weidman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Weidman doesn't manage to clinch there - Adamek circles away.
Adamek throws a leg kick but Weidman moved away. Adamek goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Weidman moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Weidman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Weidman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Adamek to the mat! Adamek manages to get full guard. Weidman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Weidman looking to pass the guard. Weidman throws a big right hand that misses. Weidman throws a big right hand that misses. That's three minutes gone in the round. Adamek keeping full guard, as Weidman tries to pass. Weidman is stalling in the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Weidman scores with a takedown into Adamek's guard. Adamek looks winded! Weidman pushes down on Adamek's leg and manages to get into half guard. Weidman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adamek is staying active underneath Weidman, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Weidman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Adamek is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Weidman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Adamek knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Weidman scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Weidman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Weidman has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Adamek defend it? Weidman steps over the head and cranks it - Adamek is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Weidman!
