Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudi Dassler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Marfaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudi Dassler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Marfaker! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dassler tries for a takedown but Marfaker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Dassler closes the distance and pushes Marfaker back into the cage. A shot in the inside from Marfaker. Dassler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Marfaker is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dassler is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudi Dassler. That's going to take a lot out of him. A bit of stalling here from Marfaker.
Dassler jumps into guard, dragging Marfaker to the mat.
Dassler is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marfaker is aware though and is defending well. Marfaker passes easily into side control. Nice work. Dassler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marfaker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Dassler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dassler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marfaker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marfaker's back! Dassler missing with strikes. Dassler not allowing Marfaker to control his hands. Dassler is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Marfaker has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marfaker looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Marfaker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dassler haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Dassler looking for the choke but no joy. Dassler missing with strikes from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dassler working for a choke but Marfaker is defending well. Dassler looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Marfaker is controlling Dassler 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Dassler keeping moving, preventing Marfaker from controlling successfully. Dassler is looking for a triangle here but Marfaker uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Dassler tries to bench press Marfaker off him but Marfaker keeps the position. Dassler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dassler tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dassler is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Dassler looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Marfaker trying to control from half guard but Dassler is working away. Dassler looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dassler punching from the bottom.
Dassler tries to get to full guard but Marfaker has control of the leg. Dassler actively working from the bottom here. Dassler trying to get back to full guard but Marfaker takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dassler keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dassler swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dassler can't escape the position.
Marfaker controlling from the full mount. Dassler working to try and regain half guard.
Dassler slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dassler actively working from the bottom here. Dassler is not content to let Marfaker control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rudi Dassler dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Marfaker throws a body punch but Dassler moves out of range. Dassler seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Dassler is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marfaker can do to turn this around? Marfaker throws a hook but Dassler avoids it easily. Dassler wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Dassler blocks a leg kick. Marfaker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Marfaker catches Dassler with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Rudi Dassler has been cut. Dassler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dassler showed some decent athleticism there. Dassler is looking for a kimura but Marfaker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dassler to get the leverage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dassler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marfaker is just riding it out for now. Dassler eventually gives up the hold. Dassler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marfaker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marfaker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dassler is working away from the top position though. Marfaker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dassler is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Dassler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marfaker swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marfaker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Dassler throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dassler is looking to work some ground and pound but Marfaker has wrist control. Dassler wants to pass the guard but Marfaker is keeping the position. Marfaker is adopting a defensive guard. Dassler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Marfaker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Marfaker has escaped and now he's on top! Dassler has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Marfaker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dassler. Dassler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marfaker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dassler wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Marfaker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marfaker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Marfaker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dassler. Dassler circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Marfaker throws a leg kick that is checked and Dassler counters with a shoot takedown. Marfaker fights it but they end up in guard. Dassler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marfaker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Marfaker trying to keep a closed guard but Dassler is proving a slippery customer.
Dassler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marfaker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dassler won't allow Marfaker to sweep him here. Dassler stands and throws Marfaker's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dassler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dassler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! An elbow from Dassler crashes against the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dassler is trying to get an arm triangle but Marfaker is defending well. Marfaker has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Dassler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marfaker, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rudi Dassler will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Rudi Dassler's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Marfaker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dassler. That did some damage! Marfaker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dassler moves away. Dassler dives in for a single leg takedown but Marfaker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A slow jab from Marfaker misses its intended target. Dassler will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Marfaker attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Dassler tries to counter with a takedown but Marfaker is quick to defend against it. Marfaker looks to score with a jab to the body but Dassler is just out of range. Juan Marfaker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marfaker throws an off balance right hand
and Dassler counters with a shoot takedown. Marfaker fights it but they end up in guard. Dassler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marfaker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marfaker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marfaker! Dassler is trying to get back to half guard. Dassler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Dassler looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dassler is looking for a sweep. Marfaker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Juan Marfaker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Marfaker jumps into side control! Dassler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Dassler regains full guard. Nicely done. Rudi Dassler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Marfaker slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Dassler. Marfaker content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Dassler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marfaker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marfaker's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dassler working for a choke but Marfaker is defending well. Marfaker breaks Dassler's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Dassler isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Marfaker stacks Dassler on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Marfaker! Dassler is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rudi Dassler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dassler defending against the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rudi Dassler. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dassler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
