Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marc Arendt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marc Arendt is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marc Arendt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Georges Hughes! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes misses with a kick to the body.
Arendt wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Hughes tries to keep at a distance but Arendt has taken the fight into the clinch. Hughes lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Arendt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hughes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hughes gets underhooks to prevent Arendt's takedown attempt.
Arendt goes for a takedown attempt but Hughes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marc Arendt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arendt shoots in and drives through. Hughes sprawls well. Hughes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've been told by Arendt's head coaches at All Time Wrestling - 12 ELITE COACHES that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Arendt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hughes.
Arendt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hughes sprawls well. Hughes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Arendt gets slowly back to his feet.

Arendt dives in for a single leg takedown but Hughes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Hughes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Arendt defends it well. Hughes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Arendt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Arendt moves into the clinch successfully.
Hughes pushes Arendt back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Arendt is working for takedown but Hughes is calmly controlling the position for now. Arendt is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hughes pushes off an throws an elbow but Arendt leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Hughes looking to throw knees to the head but Arendt is blocking nicely.
Arendt is trying to drag Hughes to the mat but Hughes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hughes gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes tries to free his leg and advance position but Arendt is retaining full guard. Hughes keeps trying to improve his position. Arendt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hughes is controlling him. Hughes trying to move into half guard but instead Arendt has managed to sweep! Arendt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hughes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arendt has managed to get both his arms back between Hughes's legs - danger averted. Hughes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hughes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Arendt is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes can't keep his opponent in guard - Arendt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hughes is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughes looking for submissions off his back. Hughes looks winded! Arendt works his way into full mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Arendt looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Arendt looking to control and managing it successfully. Hughes can't escape the position.

Arendt patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Arendt working for a choke but Hughes is defending well. A lull in the action here.
Hughes tries to escape but Arendt has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Hughes is still trying to improve position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hughes turns into Arendt and is now in his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hughes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Arendt is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Arendt has escaped and now he's on top! Arendt won't allow Hughes to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georges Hughes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Arendt passes into half guard. Arendt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hughes is just riding it out for now. Arendt eventually gives up the hold. Arendt is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hughes sees it coming and defends easily. Arendt wants to control but Hughes is keeping him busy. Hughes wants to improve his position but Arendt is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes looking for submissions off his back. Arendt is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Arendt passes the guard and advances to mount! Hughes defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Arendt. Hughes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Arendt has control of Hughes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hughes regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arendt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hughes is looking to escape. Arendt is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hughes to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hughes shrugs it off. Arendt mounts Hughes! Really nice guard pass there! Hughes has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hughes is trying to escape the mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hughes sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Marc Arendt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hughes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Arendt pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Marc Arendt showed his dominance in that final round. I think Hughes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
