PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Bach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Tetriakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bach comes to the cage accompanied by care bears countdown. Tetriakov has chosen Arsonist's Prayer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Boris Tetriakov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karl Bach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Tetriakov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tetriakov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bach looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bach tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Tetriakov stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Bach looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bach winds up and cracks Tetriakov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bach feints and as Tetriakov raises his hands in defense, Bach changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bach might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Tetriakov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bach gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tetriakov is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bach's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bach makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bach moves into range and clinches up with Tetriakov.
Bach tries to score a body lock takedown but Tetriakov shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Bach tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bach has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tetriakov is looking to get back to his feet here but Bach is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tetriakov's back.

Bach connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Tetriakov to escape the position.
Bach has the hooks in. Tetriakov is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Tetriakov tries to bum rush Bach with a series of wild strikes but Bach uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bach in particular looking to stall.

Tetriakov is looking for a sweep. Bach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bach seems to be working for a kimura but Tetriakov defends the submission attempt.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bach, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
