Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nickthaniel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Ching (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Feiticeira. The crowd seem to be enjoying Ching's choice of entrance music: E Ala E. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Damien Ching!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands with a nice combination. Ching backs away looking to recover.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ching, right into the meat.
Diaz lands a jab to the head.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Ching counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Diaz tries to pull guard but Ching forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Ching tries for a takedown but Diaz manages to get underhooks.
Ching wants to take the fight to the mat but Diaz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Diaz managing to block the knees to the body from Ching.
Diaz on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ching pulls guard successfully.
Ching is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Diaz engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ching pulls Diaz in close to prevent any damage.

Ching can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace.

Diaz feints a jab promting Ching to slip. Diaz then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ching slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Diaz lands with a nice body punch.

Diaz is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Diaz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nickthaniel Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ching is struggling to control the position.
Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ching walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Diaz throws a body kick that misses.

Diaz misses with a wild combination.

and Ching holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ching tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Diaz just stands there and leans against the cage.
Diaz prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ching tries to pull guard but Diaz holds him up against the cage and eventually Ching drops back down to his feet.
Diaz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ching smiles and moves away.
Ching fails to land the takedown.

Diaz misses with the combination.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ching feints the counter takedown.
Diaz scores with a hook to the body. Ching takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Diaz feints a jab promting Ching to slip. Diaz then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ching slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ching dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Ching lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Diaz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ching circles away quickly and effectively.
Ching shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense.
Diaz misses with a double jab

and Ching counters by clinching up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nickthaniel Diaz dominated that round.

Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Ching is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ching trying to keep a closed guard but Diaz is proving a slippery customer.
Diaz is pushing down on Ching's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ching is fighting to maintain full guard but Diaz has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz is trying to control. Ching wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ching pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.
Diaz moves into full mount! Ching won't be happy about that!

Diaz has good solid back control here.

Ching has hold of Diaz's leg, trying to break free but it's let Diaz lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Ching is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Diaz throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.

A pretty intense looking Nickthaniel Diaz took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
