Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ali Grigsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kari Tenhunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grigsby comes to the cage accompanied by Happy - Pharrell Williams. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ali Grigsby! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kari Tenhunen! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Tenhunen. Beautiful body shot. Grigsby throws a one two combo.
Grigsby wants to land a leg kick but Tenhunen is out of range. Grigsby lands a really nice looking cross but Tenhunen seems unphased.
Grigsby takes a shot right to the bread basket. Grigsby takes a body punch but keeps moving. Grigsby looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Grigsby is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tenhunen. A leg kick checked by Tenhunen. An inside leg kick from Grigsby misses. A punch combination from Grigsby misses. Tenhunen dives in and scores a takedown into Grigsby's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tenhunen lands a couple of decent looking shots. Grigsby looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tenhunen is one step ahead there. Grigsby being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenhunen lands a couple of digs. Tenhunen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Grigsby working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tenhunen. Tenhunen tries to free his leg and advance position but Grigsby is retaining full guard. Grigsby knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tenhunen on the ground. Tenhunen is still trying to improve position. Tenhunen keeps trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tenhunen landing with the ground and pound. Tenhunen throws a big elbow that misses. Tenhunen controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Grigsby takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tenhunen throws a shot to the body.
Grigsby pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tenhunen is out of range and Grigsby settles back down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grigsby scores with the left hand. Tenhunen knows he should have avoided that one. Grigsby uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tenhunen has time to react. Tenhunen lands a right hook to the body.
Grigsby with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tenhunen to score with a decent uppercut. Grigsby throws a nice looking combination but Tenhunen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A clash of legs there as Tenhunen blocks the low kick. Tenhunen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tenhunen lands in his opponent's guard. Tenhunen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grigsby is keeping the position for now. Grigsby looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Grigsby is in trouble now - Tenhunen has advanced to mount! Tenhunen lands a heavy elbow. Tenhunen controlling the position easily from mount. Tenhunen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tenhunen fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kari Tenhunen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tenhunen connects with a body shot that sends Grigsby's belly button to the back. Tenhunen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Grigsby.

Grigsby is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tenhunen. Grigsby misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tenhunen checks a leg kick. Grigsby wants to land a leg kick but Tenhunen is out of range. A little jabbing left from Tenhunen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Grigsby motions for Tenhunen to come forward. Grigsby throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Grigsby tries to score with a low kick but Tenhunen moves his leg out of the way. A chopping leg kick lands by Grigsby. Ali Grigsby is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grigsby scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Tenhunen throws out a powerful jab. Tenhunen ducks under a wild hook from Grigsby. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tenhunen lands a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grigsby displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tenhunen throws out the jab. Grigsby will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ali Grigsby is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Grigsby gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Grigsby is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tenhunen is pressing down on Grigsby's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tenhunen looking for a sweep. Not yet Tenhunen, not yet. Grigsby throws an elbow that misses. Tenhunen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Grigsby's guard. Nice move by Tenhunen! Tenhunen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Grigsby on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grigsby tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tenhunen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Grigsby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tenhunen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tenhunen is pushing down on Grigsby's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grigsby is fighting to maintain full guard but Tenhunen has managed to sneak the leg through. Tenhunen slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tenhunen winds up and cracks Grigsby with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tenhunen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Grigsby is trying to escape back to his feet but Tenhunen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Tenhunen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tenhunen is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Grigsby tries to buck Tenhunen off but Tenhunen is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Grigsby's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Grigsby being controlled for a moment. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tenhunen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kari Tenhunen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Tenhunen scores with a sloppy right hand. Grigsby should have avoided that one. Grigsby throws out a loose jab but Tenhunen uses good head movement to avoid it. Tenhunen tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. A telegraphed right hand from Tenhunen misses the target. Nice cross by Grigsby. Tenhunen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Tenhunen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Tenhunen's corner calls for a 1-2. Tenhunen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Ali Grigsby is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tenhunen misses with a double jab.

Grigsby feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tenhunens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Grigsby uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Grigsby lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tenhunen circles away quickly and effectively. Grigsby throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Tenhunen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenhunen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Tenhunen scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Tenhunen controlling the action here. Tenhunen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tenhunen looking to control and managing it successfully. Grigsby gets back to half guard. Tenhunen works his way into side control. Tenhunen grinds an elbow into Grigsby's temple. Tenhunen is working Grigsby over with some ground and pound from side control. Grigsby on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Tenhunen controlling the position from side mount. Grigsby tries to buck Tenhunen off but Tenhunen is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Tenhunen working away. Tenhunen moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Grigsby takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Grigsby tries to bench press Tenhunen off him but Tenhunen keeps the position. Grigsby trying to remain calm as Tenhunen controls from the top position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grigsby is looking to reverse the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tenhunen scores with a nice head shot. Good work by Tenhunen as he checks the leg kick. Grigsby uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tenhunen. Tenhunen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Tenhunen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Grigsby on the side of the head.
Grigsby is rocked! Tenhunen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Oh Grigsby is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Tenhunen lands a jab. Grigsby tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tenhunen was well out of range. Poor timing from Grigsby. A nice side step and Tenhunen releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Grigsby waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tenhunen. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tenhunen cracks Grigsby with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Grigsby tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Tenhunen pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Grigsby is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kari Tenhunen! Kari Tenhunen is the new bantamweight champion! Kari Tenhunen really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sun-Tzu logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
