Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Patryk Szymanski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Cureton! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Szymanski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cureton's guard. Cureton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Szymanski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cureton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Szymanski, into his guard.
Szymanski is looking for a triangle but Cureton pushes his legs off easily.
Cureton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Szymanski is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Szymanski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cureton defends well. Cureton trying to control the position from guard on top but Szymanski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Szymanski working for a triangle but Cureton defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cureton wants to control from the top but Szymanski keeps moving. Szymanski can't keep his opponent in guard - Cureton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Szymanski is staying active underneath Cureton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Szymanski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cureton pulls his head out easily. Cureton wants to take a breather but Szymanski is having none of it. Cureton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Cureton looks winded! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Szymanski avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cureton. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Szymanski closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cureton quickly recovers to half guard. Szymanski is working for a submission of some sort.

Szymanski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cureton can do to turn this around?
