Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Markus Remoreras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 50 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yahweh Falwell! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Remoreras looks to land a combination. Falwell sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. A slapping leg kick lands for Remoreras.
Falwell fails with the takedown and Remoreras counters with a one-two to the body. Remoreras jabs Falwell right on the nose. Falwell blinks but takes it well. Remoreras turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Remoreras delivers a nice body kick. Remoreras lands a right hook to the body.
Falwell looks winded! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Remoreras connects with a body shot. Falwell on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Falwell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Markus Remoreras seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Remoreras cracks the inside of Falwell's front leg. Falwell takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Falwell shoots in but Remoreras avoids the takedown attempt easily. Remoreras connects with a leg kick. Falwell looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Remoreras has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA LA Elite in the buildup to the fight. Remoreras lands a right hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Falwell has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Falwell there as he acknowledges the shot. Falwell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Remoreras sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Markus Remoreras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yahweh Falwell. Oooooh!!! Remoreras has knocked Falwell down with a huge combo! Remoreras steps away and waves a wobbly Falwell back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Falwell is rocked! Remoreras connects with a solid leg kick. Falwell is still on wobbly legs! Can Remoreras finish him? and Remoreras counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Falwell! He's just covering up as Remoreras starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Markus Remoreras! During a confident post fight interview, Markus Remoreras thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. In defeat, Yahweh Falwell stepped up to the mic, saying 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much. I bet if I rolled more instead of praying, I might have learned to defend submissions. I guess it's God's will. But to quote George Carlin: "If it's God's will and he's going to do what he wants to anyway, why'.
