PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Mills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rob Mills was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Mills!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mills looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
It looks like Mills might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Jackson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mills is on him like a limpet, forcing Jackson back against the cage.
Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but Mills blocks with his arms.
Mills tries to pull guard but Jackson holds him up against the cage and eventually Mills drops back down to his feet.
Mills is trying to maintain a safe position but Jackson gets an underhook and turns Mills into the cage.
Jackson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mills is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Mills tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mills is trying to pull guard but Jackson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cedric Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Mills.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mills takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jackson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Mills has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.

Mills ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mills no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Mills's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A close round but Rob Mills will probably get the nod.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mills is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mills tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Rob Mills has got the better of the ground game so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mills is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mills gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mills gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mills apologises and we restart here on the feet.


Jackson is rocked!
Jackson gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rob Mills!
