The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cruz fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Cruz looks for a takedown here. Cruz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Van Roost as he jumps to the side. Luis Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cruz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Van Roost swivels and escapes.

Van Roost is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Van Roost comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Cruz is rocked! Van Roost creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Cruz! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Van Roost.
