The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frankelsteen takes a swing at Annuaku's ribcage but misses.

Frankelsteen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Frankelsteen lands an elbow just above Annuaku 's eye.

Frankelsteen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Frankelsteen is breathing heavily.
Frankelsteen pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Annuaku jumps guard but Frankelsteen stands there with Annuaku around his waist. Annuaku gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Annuaku is trying to drag Frankelsteen to the mat but Frankelsteen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Francisco Frankelsteen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Annuaku.
A frustrated look appears on Annuaku's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Frankelsteen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Annuaku on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Annuaku avoids the elbow strike from Frankelsteen, against the cage.

Frankelsteen lands an elbow inside that Annuaku shrugs off.
A frustrated look appears on Annuaku's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Annuaku is trying to break the clinch but Frankelsteen is controlling him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Francisco Frankelsteen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Annuaku throws a hook to the side of Frankelsteen's head but Frankelsteen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Frankelsteen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Annuaku swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Frankelsteen feints and then cracks Annuaku's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Annuaku down.

so Annuaku counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Annuaku slips nicely into half guard.
Annuaku moves nicely into side control.
Annuaku scoring with punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frankelsteen is not content to let Annuaku control the position.
Annuaku misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Annuaku trying to control the position but Frankelsteen is working away.
Frankelsteen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Annuaku on the ground.

Annuaku has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Frankelsteen is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Annuaku yanks on the arm and Frankelsteen is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Annuaku.
