The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kropano fails with the takedown

and Kowalski counters by moving into the clinch.

Kropano will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kowalski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kropano.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Kropano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kropano is defended easily by Kowalski.
Kropano shoots in for a double leg but Kowalski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Despite the aggression on Kowalski's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
