Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Moraes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry O Connell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerry O Connell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ivan Moraes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ivan Moraes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerry O Connell! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moraes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. O Connell is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Moraes fails in his attempt to clinch. Moraes throws a nice looking combination but O Connell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. O Connell with the counter takedown but Moraes avoids it easily. The fighters circling - Moraes throws out the jab but it was never going to land. O Connell is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Moraes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Moraes misses with a few strikes there.
O Connell drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Moraes defends it well. Moraes doesn't succeed with the takedown and O Connell counters with a shoot takedown. Moraes fights it but they end up in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. O Connell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw O Connell working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Moraes looking to control.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells O Connell's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Moraes is looking for a triangle but O Connell pushes his legs off easily.
O Connell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. O Connell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Connell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Moraes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. O Connell defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moraes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. O Connell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. O Connell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. O Connell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. O Connell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moraes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. O Connell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Moraes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. O Connell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. O Connell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Moraes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Moraes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Moraes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. O Connell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Moraes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think O Connell should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Moraes has tightened it up now! O Connell should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
