The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Promon pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Thomas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomas lands in his opponent's guard.
Thomas slips nicely into half guard.
Thomas uses his free foot to push down on Promon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Promon.

Thomas has control of Promon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Promon regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Thomas looking to secure an arm triangle but Promon defends it well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Thomas has hold of Promon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Promon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Promon tries to lock up and control but Thomas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Thomas with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Thomas is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Promon is in real trouble.

Thomas has the hooks in. Promon is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Promon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Thomas.

Thomas is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Promon defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Promon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Promon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Thomas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thomas trying to control the position from guard on top but Promon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Thomas drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Thomas as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Promon screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Thomas! Nice submission victory there!
