The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker misses the shot to the body.
Howard swings widly with a right hand
and Parker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Howard slips under a jab.
Rudy Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parker thuds his right hand into Howard's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Parker's corner calls for a 1-2. Parker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A combination from Parker does no damage.
Howard changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Parker misses with a few strikes there.
Parker fails to land with a series of punches.
Howard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Parker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Howard circles away quickly and effectively.

Howard closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Parker lands with a nice combination. Howard backs away looking to recover.

and Howard counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Howard content to control rather than advance.
Howard is pressing down on Parker's thigh, looking to free his foot. Parker is holding on for now.
Parker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Howard working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Howard is nestled in close to Parker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Parker tries to hold on but Howard pushes him away.

Parker is squirming around, avoiding Howard's attempts to control the action.
Howard has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Howard has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Parker's face.

Howard lands a big shot there that rocks Parker but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Howard postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Parker looks a forlorn figure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parker can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jens Howard spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
