PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Ferrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Twos Twos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wilson Ferrall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Twos Twos!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrall gets a double leg takedown into Twos's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Twos controls Ferrall momentarily but Ferrall frees himself.

Ferrall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ferrall is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Twos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferrall wants to pass the guard but Twos is keeping the position.
Twos working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ferrall.

Ferrall advances to half guard.

Ferrall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ferrall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Twos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ferrall.
Ferrall slows the pace down in half guard.
Twos is staying active underneath Ferrall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ferrall seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Twos has recovered full guard.
Twos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ferrall works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Ferrall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Twos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ferrall.

Ferrall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ferrall is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ferrall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Twos keeps working.
Twos trying to hold on to Ferrall's head to control him but Ferrall postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Nice sprawl there from Twos as Ferrall shoots in.
Ferrall takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Twos moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ferrall looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ferrall misses with a takedown attempt - Twos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ferrall throws a push kick but Twos slaps the foot to one side.
Twos bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ferrall's head backwards.
Ferrall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Twos paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Some wild striking there from Twos.
Ferrall is looking to counter the offense by Twos and move into the clinch.
Jimmy Twos Twos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Twos does no damage.
Ferrall takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Twos keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Twos connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ferrall. Ferrall circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Twos clobbers Ferrall with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Ferrall moves into range and clinches up with Twos.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ferrall ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ferrall no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Twos wanted to stand there but Ferrall had control of the position.

Ferrall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Twos trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferrall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Twos wants to stand but Ferrall has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Ferrall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Twos is aware though and is defending well.
Ferrall seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Ferrall is looking for a triangle but Twos pushes his legs off easily.
Twos trying to control but Ferrall is working from the bottom.
Twos stays in close to Ferrall's body and controls the position.
Twos wanted to stand there but Ferrall had control of the position.
Twos's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ferrall is trying to control the position but Twos postures up.
Twos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferrall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ferrall keeping moving, preventing Twos from controlling successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Twos throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Ferrall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Twos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ferrall trying to control but Twos is working from the bottom.
Ferrall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Twos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ferrall wants to control from the top but Twos keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ferrall tries to free his leg and advance position but Twos is retaining full guard.
Twos wants to get back to his feet but Ferrall is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferrall wants to control from the top but Twos keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ferrall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Twos's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ferrall drops back looking for a leg! Twos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Twos manages to kick Ferrall off! Ferrall jumps back into Twos's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ferrall stands up over Twos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Twos Twos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


A cross from Twos lands.
Twos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Twos jabs Ferrall to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ferrall leaves Twos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Twos fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Twos lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Twos lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Ferrall moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Ferrall manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Twos on his heels. He'll look to pass Twos's guard now, I'm sure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wilson Ferrall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ferrall won't allow Twos to get back to his feet.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Twos works over Ferrall's head and body with a nice combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ferrall is defended easily by Twos.
Ferrall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Twos is fending him off so far but Ferrall persists. Nope, Twos circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Twos gets caught flat footed, as Ferrall shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Twos kicks Ferrall off and gets to his feet.

Ferrall walks into a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Twos lands with a straight right. Ferrall didn't see that one coming.
Wilson Ferrall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Good exchange - Twos coming out on top.
Twos scores with a shot to the body.
Ferrall moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Nice straight punches there by Twos. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Twos.
Ferrall looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Twos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Twos lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Twos bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ferrall's head backwards.
Ferrall walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ferrall takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Ferrall tries to close the distance and clinch but Twos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Twos lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ferrall looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Twos scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jimmy Twos Twos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Twos cracks Ferrall with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ferrall takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Twos shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ferrall eats them both and turns towards Twos to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Ferrall looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ferrall throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Twos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ferrall is in Twos's guard.
Twos wants to stand but Ferrall is controlling the position.
Twos is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ferrall stopping the sweep attempt from Twos.

Ferrall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ferrall drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Twos dives on top into guard.
Twos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Twos gets to his feet - Ferrall follows without any prompting.
Twos swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ferrall.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jimmy Twos Twos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Twos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
