Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Joyner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mandrake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Mandrake has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Joyner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Mandrake! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mandrake misses with a few strikes there.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mandrake, right into the meat.
Mandrake throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Mandrake gets in close and instigates a clinch. Joyner tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mandrake smiles and moves away.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Mandrake. Joyner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Joyner closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Joyner decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mandrake has closed the distance and engaged Joyner in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Mandrake. Joyner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mandrake to keep the fight standing. Joyner can't break the clinch.
Joyner wants to break free but Mandrake has control.
Joyner takes a knee to the side of the body. Joyner is breathing heavily. Mandrake landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Joyner fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Joyner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mandrake slowing the pace effectively. Mandrake breaks the clinch.
Joyner sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Mandrake throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Robert Joyner has been cut. Mandrake lands a jab to the nose. An inside leg kick lands from Mandrake. Mandrake closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mandrake has Joyner pressed against the cage. He pushes Joyner back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Mandrake throws a beautiful elbow that sends Joyner crashing to the floor! Mandrake piles on the pressure with more strikes! Joyner is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Mandrake!
