Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Nelson Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guillaume Veilleux! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Veilleux throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gunn throws a nice looking combination but Veilleux bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gunn throws a nice looking combination but Veilleux bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gunn steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Veilleux. That one must have hurt. Nice shot by Veilleux. Gunn checks a low kick from Veilleux. Veilleux takes a swing at Gunn's ribcage but misses. Veilleux lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Gunn throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Nelson Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Veilleux is looking to chop away at Gunn's legs. Veilleux digs a good body shot into Gunn's ribs. Gunn cracks Veilleux with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Gunn throws a right and a left that Veilleux avoids nicely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gunn has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Veilleux. Veilleux misses with a head kick.
Veilleux works the jab nicely. Gunn misses with a hook. Gunn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Veilleux counters with a stiff right hand. Veilleux keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gunn. Veilleux lands with a straight right. Gunn didn't see that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn throws a combination. Veilleux tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Gunn checks a leg kick nicely. That kick from Veilleux tenderised Gunn's leg. Gunn is trying to keep his angry face on. Gunn misses with a lunging right hand
and Veilleux counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gunn misses with a hook. Veilleux attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Gunn swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A head kick misses from Veilleux. Veilleux misses with an uppercut. Gunn saw that one coming. A low kick from Veilleux misses and Gunn counters with an inside leg kick. Veilleux walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gunn checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Gunn walks into a jab. Veilleux has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Veilleux slips a jab from Gunn. Veilleux misses with a looping left. Veilleux is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Veilleux delivers a nice body kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gunn connects with a crisp jab. We've been told by Gunn's head coaches at The Fortress that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Veilleux uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gunn. Gunn moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromVeilleux. Veilleux connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gunn. Gunn circles away out of range and recomposes himself. A swing and a miss from Gunn.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Veilleux misses. Veilleux takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Gunn jabbing away but nothing is landing. Veilleux's coach down at Hells Balls Grappling Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Veilleux's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Veilleux scores with a nice strike. Veilleux walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gunn checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Veilleux thows a left - swing and a miss! Gunn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Veilleux. Gunn walks into a left hand. Gunn throws a lazy right hand but Veilleux sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Good exchange - Veilleux coming out on top. Gunn lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Veilleux scores with a punch to the head.
Gunn is rocked! Gunn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oh Gunn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Veilleux circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Gunn to the canvas! Gunn doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Veilleux keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Guillaume Veilleux! A less than humble Guillaume Veilleux misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
