Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Garavito!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Garavito wants to counter with a clinch but Koko pushes him away.
Koko tries to score with a low kick but Garavito moves his leg out of the way.
Garavito showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Koko.
Garavito lands a glancing blow to the side of Koko's head.
A swing and a miss from Garavito.
A counter left hand to the body from Koko misses its target.
Garavito misses with an uppercut.
Garavito wants to slow Koko down by chopping away at his legs.
Koko jabs Garavito right on the nose. Garavito blinks but takes it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garavito jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Garavito gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Garavito moves out of range of the strikes.
Garavito keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Koko jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Garavito closes the distance and pushes Koko back into the cage.

Garavito lands a shoulder strike.
Garavito blocking some punches.

Garavito breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Garavito connects with a crisp jab.
Michael Koko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garavito swings widly with a right hand
and Koko counters with a left to the body.
Koko slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Garavito tries to land a leg kick but Koko saw it coming and moves away.
Koko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Garavito sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Garavito moves away from the strike by Koko.
Garavito misses with an uppercut.
Koko misses with a head kick.
A jab from Koko finds it's way through Garavito's defenses.
We've been told by Koko's head coaches at Woodhouse's that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Koko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Garavito counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koko lands a lovely overhand right.
Koko throws a nice outside leg kick.
Koko motions for Garavito to come forward. Koko throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A jab from Koko does it's job there.
Garavito waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Koko.
Koko lands with a shot to the body.
Garavito dodges the punch combination from Koko.
Garavito uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Koko.
The fighters circle, before Garavito throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Koko's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Garavito lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Luis Garavito!
Luis Garavito decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Michael Koko spoke after the fight, saying 'Koko sad.'.
