Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alan Mullins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, John Prescot! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prescot dives in and scores a takedown into Mullins's guard. Mullins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mullins is looking to stand up but Prescot isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mullins trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Prescot sitting in guard, not really doing much. Prescot preventing the sweep. Prescot gets to his feet - Mullins follows without any prompting. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prescot throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Prescot tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mullins was well out of range. Poor timing from Prescot. Mullins moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Prescot lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mullins wants to clinch. A countering left hand to the body from Prescot misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prescot throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mullins. Prescot misses with a double jab.
Mullins stalks Prescot and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Prescot's face. Prescot staggers backwards, shaken. Mullins dives in for a single leg takedown but Prescot sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nice uppercut there from Prescot. Mullins displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Prescot throws out the jab. Mullins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Prescot's guard. Prescot has his feet on Mullins's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mullins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Prescot counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prescot moves into the clinch. Prescot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jab, jab by Prescot - just one landing. Prescot clinches up against the cage. Prescot breaks from the clinch.
Mullins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Prescot swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Mullins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Prescot digs a good body shot into Mullins's ribs. Prescot looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mullins! Sloppy strikes there by Prescot. Mullins being controlled for a moment. Prescot is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mullins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Prescot gets to mount! Mullins was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Prescot misses with a head shot. Mullins wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Prescot content just to control the position here. Prescot tries to control but Mullins wriggling away. Mullins is trying to reverse the position but instead Prescot has taken his back - oops! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mullins showing good submission defense here.

John Prescot dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Prescot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mullins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mullins uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Mullins shoots and misses and Prescot counters with a lovely straight right hand! A shot to the liver by Prescot. Beautiful body shot. Mullins doesn't succeed with the takedown and Prescot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mullins dives in and grabs Prescot's left leg, looking for a takedown. Prescot pushes down on Mullins's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Mullins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Prescot lunges at Mullins with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mullins's hand. Mullins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Prescot.
Mullins went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Prescot cracks a nice hook into Mullins's ribs. Prescot throws a nice looking combination but Mullins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Prescot has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Prescot has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prescot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Prescot has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Prescot lands a front kick. Alan Mullins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mullins tries to bum rush Prescot with a series of wild strikes but Prescot uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Prescot scores with a decent looking hook. John Prescot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mullins on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Mullins takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A shot to the liver by Prescot. Beautiful body shot. Prescot thuds a left hand into Mullins's body. Mullins takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Prescot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mullins moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Prescot catches Mullins with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prescot lands with a nice body punch. Mullins tries for a takedown but Prescot circles away easily and Prescot counters with a left to the body. Prescot tests Mullins's chin there with a solid looking shot. Prescot scores with a jab. Mullins tries for a takedown but Prescot circles away easily enabling Prescot to counter with a crisp jab. Prescot goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Prescot throws a series of strikes that have Mullins backpedaling.
Prescot clinches up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Prescot breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Prescot ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Prescot takes a swing at Mullins's ribcage but misses. Mullins seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Prescot has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Prescot closes the distance and pushes Mullins back into the cage. Prescot breaks from the clinch.
The crowd cheers as Prescot lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mullins doesn't seem phased though. John Prescot seems to be getting the better of the standup. Prescot forces Mullins back against the cage and clinches. Mullins creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Prescot's defenses. Prescot manages to break the clinch.
Mullins walks into a stiff left hand from Prescot. Prescot's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mullins under the eye. Prescot darts in and clinches Mullins up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mullins connects with a knee to the head.
Mullins swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mullins is looking for a takedown. Prescot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Prescot throws a one two combo.
Prescot shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mullins napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mullins tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. I would not like to be Mullins right now.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. You can see the frustration on Mullins's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

John Prescot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Prescot lands a jab-cross combination. Prescot closes the distance and pushes Mullins back into the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Prescot. Prescot manages to break the clinch.

Mullins shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Mullins misses with a takedown attempt - Prescot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prescot fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mullins looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mullins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Prescot changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Mullins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Prescot closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mullins's guard. Mullins manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Mullins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Prescot connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mullins scrambles back to his feet.
