Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Sutherland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Groper! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Groper throws a right and a left that Sutherland avoids nicely. Groper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. It looked like Sutherland was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Groper shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sutherland counters with a one-two to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Groper fails with the takedown and Sutherland counters with a two punch combo. Joe Sutherland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Groper.

Groper shoots in looking for a takedown but Sutherland manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Groper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. and Sutherland counters with a three punch combo that has Groper backing up. Groper nods at Sutherland to acknowledge the strikes. Groper shoots in for a takedown but Sutherland shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. As Groper looks to move away, Sutherland throws a big counter combo bu Groper just gets out of the way.

He's got his arms around Sutherland's waist but Sutherland gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Groper off to one side. Groper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sutherland looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Groper working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Groper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sutherland keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Groper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Groper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sutherland knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Groper is trying to get an arm triangle but Sutherland is defending well. Joe Sutherland dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
